A Colorful Tribute to Madame Clicquot
Veuve Clicquot unveils La Grande Dame Rosé 2015, a tribute to Madame Clicquot's pioneering spirit.
In 1818, she defied conventional practices by blending her red wine from her beloved ‘Clos Colin’ parcel with her white wine. Criticized at first, she is now acknowledged as the inventor of the first known blended rosé champagne.
This is the chance to be amongst the first in the world to taste La Grande Dame Rosé 2015, an exceptional sunny vintage for a wine full of tension and elegance.
Monique Fiso
In partnership with the talented chefs of Catalina, acclaimed New Zealand chef Monique Fiso has created an elegant four-course menu that speaks to her Māori heritage and pairs beautifully with Veuve Clicquot’s wines, evoking a shared sense of ‘terroir’.
There is ‘Hinemoana’ a celebration of Australian seafood designed as a match for the elegant minerality of La Grande Dame 2015, followed by ‘Salt & Pepper’, which brings together horopito and saltbush, iconic ingredients used by Māori and Aboriginal Australians, with grilled kangaroo in a dish to marry beautifully with the layers of saline and pepper in La Grande Dame Rosé 2015. For dessert, Monique has created a dish called The Comet, dedicated to 1811, the year of the comet and a game changing year for Madame Clicquot.
CATALINA, ROSE BAY
Set on the waterfront in Rose Bay, Catalina is an Australian icon. Owned and operated for 30 years by the McMahon family, Catalina has built a global reputation for its effortless luxury and uniquely Australian approach to dining. With panoramic views of
Sydney Harbour, Catalina is a name synonymous with Sydney’s eastern suburbs and chic coastal style.
On the eve of their 30th birthday, Catalina and the McMahon family are excited to partner with Veuve Clicquot and Monique Fiso to create an unforgettable evening for guests.
